Tex Rickard's Residence Goldfield, NV This well preserved house was constructed in 1907 by the famous fight promoter, Tex Rickard. Tex managed to bring the world light weight boxing championship match to Goldfield in 1906 - a match between "Battling Nelson" and black contender, Joe Gans. (Gans was declared the winner after 42 rounds and being fouled by Nelson in a clinch.) Rickard eventually made it to Madison Square Gardens in New York City.
