Smelter Ruins #4 Swansea, AZ
Drifts of brick are all that remain of the tumbled walls of the smelter. Down the hill from this ruin are the foundations of a huge mill building, as well as the railroad grade, rail station, and loading docks for the mine.
The hills visible far down the valley mark the Bill Williams River. By 1908, a 3.5 mile pipeline and pumping plant had been constructed to carry water from the river to the town site and mines.
