Mercantile Bank #3

Ludlow, CA

Here is a view of the ruined Mercantile Bank at Ludlow, California, on Route 66. Prominent in this view is the collapse caused by the Landers Earthquake of 2000. These ruins are located very near railroad tracks. About 100 yards from the building is a railway supply depot which is illuminated with huge banks of tremendously bright and glaring unshielded flood lights. These lights dominate all of what's left of Ludlow. Some of the glare is visible on the front left corner of the building.
