Cameron Mill Ruins

East Belmont, NV

This impressive ruin is the shell of the Cameron Mill, built in 1915 to process ore from the many Monitor-Belmont silver mining claims. The mill also reprocessed ore from the tailings piles of the earlier mining activity in the area. The Cameron was built using the bricks from the nearby Combination Mill which was razed in 1914. The Cameron featured 10 1,600 pound stamps and a 150 ton oil floatation system to process the ore. The mill was shutdown in 1917 and was restarted several times over the next few years during short-lived mining revivals. Now, only a hulking ruin remains, glimmering in the silvery moonlight.
