Wildrose Charcoal Kilns #2 Death Valley National Park, CA This is a view of the kilns from the back side. Note the vent located high in the dome. For this shot I tried to illuminate the kilns from the inside using red and yellow gel filters. The kilns, of course, are charcoal black inside and are very efficient at absorbing light. Very little of the illumination shows. Time to buy a more powerful flashlight and flash unit!
