Tufa Study #3

Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve, CA

More of the fantastic tufa formations cast reflections in the still waters. The encrusted branches of a drowned sagebrush protrude from the waters. Indeed, anything long adrift or left upon the shores of this lake will become similarly encrusted. Many an errant tumbleweed blown into these waters quickly found itself becoming a lacy confection of stone!
