The Watcher

Mono Lake Tufa State Reserve, CA

Looking like the serpentine neck of some prehistoric beast, some holdover of a forgotten age, a twisted tufa spire is silhouetted against the setting moon. Perhaps this is kin to 'Nessie'...after all, why should Loch Ness be the only lake to be so graced by a monster?
