Santa Anna Bridge #1

This steel girder bridge crosses the Santa Anna river wash below the new Seven Oaks flood control dam near Highland, California. This narrow bridge has long been a landmark to the area. Now, with increasingly rapid development of tract housing nearby with attendant increase in traffic, this bridge is slated for replacement. Last indication was that the bridge would be moved to a new location and preserved as a landmark or monument. Still, this is one more piece of Americana vanishing from the landscape in the face of urbanization.
